By the time you read this you will already have made your mind up that you are coming to Edinburgh. You have made a wise choice! With a population around the 500,000 mark Edinburgh has the advantage of being an easy city to negotiate and find your way around. Edinburgh Castle stands guard over the city and can be seen from almost everywhere, an easy landmark for those with a poor sense of direction. The city may only have a population of 500,000 but it plays host to many more at all times of the year. One of the wonderful things about the city is that there is so much to do whether you visit in the height of Summer, or the middle of Winter.
There are hundreds of restaurants, many privately owned and, of course, hundreds of bars. The theatres offer a wide variety of entertainment and there is live music in venues of all sizes. The city hosts two comedy clubs too and, if you wish, dozens of cinemas.

Edinburgh City itself can keep you occupied whether you are staying for a couple of days or a week and is also in the perfect location should you wish to travel further afield with day trips as far North as Loch Ness and Inverness and attractions closer to home such as Rosslyn Chapel, Royal Yacht Brittania, Forth Bridges and the Museum of Flight with Concorde. Getting around is easy too with a fast and efficient bus service running 24 hours a day, a train service to all points North and West and all the major car hire companies. Edinburgh Airport has links to almost every airport in the country and actually has more passengers per year than our neighbours across in Glasgow. Of course if you wish to visit Glasgow, there are 4 buses per hour and 4 trains per hour.
